Animal Nook
The company focuses on large-scale, high-quality breeding of insects and feed rodents. The recipients are both wholesale customers (zoos and pet stores, feed producers and fish producers) and individual customers (owners of animals, including exotic birds, anglers and aquarists).
What distinguishes our venture?
The company's goal is to meet the high-volume demand of the European market (in the future also the USA and other countries), and the products offered are to be available all year round - and not seasonally, as is the case with similar projects carried out on a smaller scale in Europe.
The overriding advantage is that our products are of the highest quality and excellent composition - they are rich in complete protein, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, and some species that we grow also contain chitin, which acts as fiber.
Another company's distinguishing feature is having a comprehensive offer for B2B, B2B2C and B2C customers.
The use of insects and feed rodents
Insects are increasingly used, not only as animal food, but also as an additive to feed for farm and domestic animals, as they provide high-quality protein, fats, vitamins and minerals. They provide a sustainable and ecological alternative to traditional protein sources such as fish meal or soybean, and require far fewer resources – water, energy and space – to farm. Insects can be fed with biowaste, reducing organic waste.
Food rodents are a great, natural, wholesome food for exotic animals and birds.

For almost 20 years, he has been a breeder of animals such as birds of prey and exotic animals. Popularizer and educator in the field of issues related to animals - from their upbringing, nutrition, through presenting proper attitudes towards animals, to ways of ensuring their welfare.

20 years of experience in breeding and reproduction of invertebrates and more than 10 years of experience in breeding and reproduction of reptiles and amphibians. In-depth knowledge of the construction and arrangement of tanks and breeding rooms, lighting systems, ventilation, heating and humidity.

23 years of experience in human resources and process and administrative management. She worked, m.in, in the world leader in the field of consulting, a leading Polish media company, in the area of business process automation.
History of the project
Animal breeding
The animal breeding of Animal Nook's partners - Tomasz Grzelak and Jędrzej Stęszewski - was established in 2017. Breeding was focused on birds of prey and reptiles, including exotic ones. Due to the inability to buy the right amount and quality of food for their animals in the form of insects and rodents, in 2022 the partners decided to create a mini-breeding for the needs of their animals.
The idea of the business
Due to the rapid development of the market of animal owners and breeders, not only in Europe, but also around the world, in mid-2024 the partners decided to start breeding Turkish cockroach (Periplaneta lateralis), Argentine cockroach (Blaptica dubia), Madagascar cockroach (Gromphadorhina portentosa), as well as rats (Rattus), Mice (Mus) and Mousetraps (Mastomys). In 2025, the company was registered in the National Court Register under the name Animal Nook Sp. z o.o. The kennel is registered by the District Veterinary Inspectorate in Sokołów Podlaski.
